Nollywood is filled with talented actors and actresses, and there seem to be quite a few children born of Nollywood parents who have taken on acting careers of their own in Nollywood. These top Nollywood actresses and actors whose mothers are also actresses have the talent and skill to back up their fame.

While these stars have followed in the footsteps of their mothers who are actresses, it is safe to say they are talented in their rights even though their mothers paved the way for them in the entertainment industry. This article takes a look at top actresses and actors whose mothers are also actresses. 

1. Priscilla Ojo 

Priscilla Ojo is the daughter of Iyabo Ojo who a famous actress in the industry is that has paved the way for her daughter through various popular roles she’s played in Nollywood that made her famous, and also by introducing her daughter to the craft in 2016 when she made her debut in Nollywood.  Priscilla is a mega social media influencer who has also added acting to the list of things she thrives in. This young actress has dabbled in the Nollywood industry with a few projects including her first role in Beyond Disability, and subsequently All of Us, and others. It is safe to safe that Priscilla Ojo has followed in the footsteps of her mother by taking a chance on Nollyood and acting.

2. Adaeze Onuigbo

Adaeze Onuigbo is a Nollywood actress whose mother is also an actress. She is the daughter of famous actress, Oby Onuigbo, who is known in the Nollywood industry for her acting career.  Adaeze Onuigbo’s mother introduced her to the acting industry as a child, the young star started acting when she was five years old, she appeared in the film Emotional Baby and now she is a popular actress. Adaeze Onuigbo is also making a name for herself with various acting credits such as Obambala, amongst others, and just like her mother, her Nollywood acting career is on a fast track to success.

3. D’Marion 

D’Marion is a young budding Nollywood actor in the industry whose mother is the popular actress Adunni Ade. Adunni Ade has been in the industry for decades, and now one of her two sons, D’marion is a part of the Nollywood fold. He reportedly starred in the 2021 film Soole, where his actress mother, Adunni Ade played the role of Sister Veronica, and also had the title of executive producer.

4. Purity Okojie 

Purity Okolie is the daughter of famous actress Mercy Johnson. Mercy Johnson introduced her first daughter into the acting industry through her debut movie as a producer, the movie titled The Birthday, featured Mercy Johnson along with her two daughters including Purity Okojie. She is just beginning her career as an actor, and it looks like she is more than eager to follow her mother’s career path. 

5. Angel Okojie 

Angel Okojie is another daughter of Mercy Johnson who seems to be interested in acting as a career. The upcoming young actress made her acting debut in the same movie, The Birthday, alongside her mother and sister, and the comedy film was well received with the audience. It would be interesting to see the mother-daughter duo in another film that catapults the young Nollywood actress into fame.

6. Regina Daniels

Regina Daniels is the daughter of Nollywood actress, Rita Daniels. Rita Daniels made a name for herself in the Nollywood industry through acting and filmmaking. It is safe to say that Regina Daniels followed in her mother’s footsteps and is now known for several acting roles and movies. Regina Daniels started acting at seven years old and rose to fame at nine years old. 

7. Chinenye Nnebe 

Chinenye Nnebe is a child actress whose mother is famous Nollywood actress Uche Nancy. Uche Nancy started as a costumier in Nollywood before getting into acting, and she is a Nollywood actress who introduced her daughter to the industry as well. According to sources, Chinenye started off her career as a result of following her mother to work, and while on set they needed a child to play a role and Chinenye Nnebe volunteered. However, she didn’t become famous as a child, it was until her teen years that she truly became a popular Nollywood actress. 

8. Isabelle Idibia

Isabelle Idibia is a famous teenager, not just because of her acting but also because of her famous actress mother, Annie Idibia. Annie Idibia is a famous actress whose daughter acted in a role in a movie she was in at the time when they needed a teenage actress and Isabelle Idibia was available. While Isabelle Idibia is considered an actress in her own right, it is safe to say she isn’t currently acting as she is pursuing her education. 

9. Munir Nwoko

Munir Nwoko is a young star in the making, his mother is the famous actress, Regina Daniels. Regina Daniels who started as a child actress, following in her mother’s footsteps, is also paving the way for her young son Munir Nwoko who appeared in his first role at just three years old alongside his mother for one of her movie projects titled Saved.

Michelle Gentry is a social media influencer who is also known to have dabbled in the Nollywood industry with movies such as Swallow. She is the daughter of Mercy Aigbe who is a super famous actress in Nollywood and has won awards for several movie roles in Nollywood. Michelle Gentry has followed the path of her mother but has also created her beauty empire. 

12. Obio Ebube 

Obio Ebube is yet another talented actress and comedian whose adopted mother is known to be the popular actress Uche Nancy. Uche Nancy is no doubt an iconic Nollywood actress who has daughters who have ventured into acting. Obio Ebube is one of them, she is known as Boss Baby and continues to make a mark as a Nollywood actress with several roles, with her first role given to her by her Nollywood actress mother. 

13. Destiny Etiko

Nollywood actress Destiny Etiko is the daughter of Eucharia Etiko, a former Nollywood actress known for roles like Bless My Soul. While Eucharia Etiko doesn’t have major acting credits to her name, she is identified to have contributed to the growth of the industry, and most especially to her daughter’s acting career. The former actress paved the way for Destiny Etiko by taking her along to movie sets where she was given minor roles, and Destiny Etiko also credits her mother for pushing her to take up the role of Ekemma in Idemili.
