An actress, a model, and a published author, undeniably, Chika Ike is a multifaceted and greatly talented individual, but fame cannot guarantee one’s protection from the storms of life.
In this article, we will take a deep dive into the life of Chika and the hurdles she’s had to face in her career and her relationships.
Chika Ike’s Marital Struggles & Divorce
Chika has been vocal about abusive relationships and her experience being a victim of domestic violence but let’s backtrack. In 2007, Chika got married to Tony Eberiri, who was an ex-banker and was married from 2006 to 2013.
In July of 2013, fans got to learn about a heartbreaking shipwreck — Chika and Tony were getting a divorce.
The reaction to a star’s divorce or marital crisis often feels like mass hysteria after a rapture—shockwaves rippling through fans and the media alike. And this news was no exception, sparking a storm of reactions.
Chika accused her erstwhile spouse of physically assaulting her for years, pinning that as the main reason for their breakup. She further revealed that the physical abuse and severe beatings by her once lover led to the loss of her pregnancy, and almost snatched her life in the process.
In a post on Facebook, the actress shared her harrowing experience:
“It’s been really hard for me to come out straight and talk about this because sometimes, I pinch myself to wake up and not believe that I was a victim of domestic violence. I’ve been through a lot in my life, faced a lot of challenges but this is one topic I’ve tried so hard to avoid and have been waiting for the right time but I have come to a resolve that there’s really no right time because every second of the day, lives are being lost due to domestic violence.
I was a victim of domestic violence in my marriage and that was the singular reason I left my marriage, aside from other reasons.”
It just happens and no woman deserves it. As a young girl I thought it was love or his way of expressing his emotions. After every beating he pleads , cries and says it won’t happen again. Once again I thought it was love and made excuses for him.”
To these claims, Tony was said to have responded warning her against publishing ‘garbage’ about him, claiming that she was also a major contributor to the breakup, citing issues of infidelity and misconduct.
Fans and netizens did not hold back in sharing their thoughts. While some supported the actress, others said Chika got married to Tony because of money and that she could’ve been an unfaithful partner, to which she responded saying
“I have heard and read a lot of accusations from ignorant people who don’t know my story, I guess that’s why they are ignorant. I was 20 yrs old and very naive to the world when I got married . They said I married for money” LOL. I was married to a corporate guy, who had a 9 to 5 job in a bank, and lived in a rented 2 bedroom apartment at Egbe.
So do the math! I married for love. I had a traditional wedding. A white wedding and a court wedding. So that’s how much I wanted to be married forever. For five years I hoped, prayed & wished that one day it will all change. But the last straw that broke the camel’s back was during a heated argument he threw a glass jug to my face and I dogged it and it shattered on the wall.”
This was unarguably a challenging but life-changing moment for the then 28 year old actress. The marriage was annulled by the Abuja High Court — since then Tony, Chika’s ex-husband has reportedly been making moves to advance his political ambitions.
In 2020 during an interview with Pulse, Chika shared that “Despite bad experiences, I’d love to get married and have kids”. However, around the same time of this interview, another controversy was cooking up, tangling Chika, a younger colleague, and her husband.
The Chika Ike, Regina Daniels, and Ned Nwoko Contention
In late 2020, dust began rising over a rumor that Ned Nwoko, a Nigerian lawyer and senator was about to kick out his 5th wife, Regina Daniels, a young actress to marry Chika Ike. The rumor came in full package, with gists of engagements, weddings, and alleged home breaking.
It all began with a snapshot of Rita Daniels (Regina Daniels’ mother) in a video singing a song she composed, but the snapshot was spun with click baiting headlines on YouTube such as “Ned Nwoke Set To Marry Chika Ike As 7 Wife As Regina Daniels Is In Trouble” and “Viral Video of Regina Daniels mother accusing Chika Ike of separating her daughter’s marriage.”
To drive clicks to their baseless videos, these YouTube creators titled these videos with misleading headlines which led people to think that the video where Regina’s mother, Rita was simply singing a song, was a video accusing Chika Ike of causing a rift between Regina and her quite advanced husband Ned.
Chika Ike was questioned about the brouhaha on an Instagram Q/A where she was asked by a fan “There’s a rumor going on — are you really dating Ned Nwoko? Are you going to be the 7th wife?” To which she responded
“No, I am not and I’m not about to be anyone’s 7th wife. NEVER!”
Chika Ike’s Pregnancy Announcement

The 39 year old actress wore a black sheer dress that gave a clear view of her belly bump. She also had her braided hair in a ponytail and rocked a gold choker necklace.
However, the actress has not revealed who the father of her unborn baby is, nor did she share any updates about any current relationships or marital life.
There has been a flood of positive reactions to the post as colleagues and fans congratulated her on the event.
Who Could The Baby Father Be?
As mentioned, Chika has not announced who the baby’s father is. The last time she was in a verifiable relationship that we know of was with her alleged abusive husband back in 2013. Since then, all affairs have been majorly rumored.
But rest assured whenever she makes any announcement, we will be here for it.
